Full Moon Rave in Thailand

You know, the more you travel to remote places, the more crazy things you learn! Although I’ve already traveled to Thailand, I first heard about the Full Moon Rave in Brazil. I don’t quite remember who told me (if you’re reading this, let me know!!) but I stumbled upon it again so I decided to write about the topic.

This is the deal. At every full moon, the party is at Had Rin Nok beach in the southeastern part of Koh Phangan island. So what exactly goes on there? You’ll find between 10,000 and 20,000 people dancing to the music of international and thai DJ’s. Music from techno, trance, drum n base, raggae and house is played through 15 sound systems accross the beach. Needless to say that it involves lots of dancing, partying and maybe waking up somewhere you never previously imagined!

Getting to the P-A-R-T-Y is relatively simple. You can hop on a boat from Koh Samui. From any other destination, you can get there by plane, bus or ferry- depending on where you are. All this to say that it’s fairly easy to reach the place.
